Exploring Texas' Upcoming Hospitality Marvels: A Preview of Four Highly Anticipated

Texas is on the brink of a hotel construction boom, with an impressive slate of over 16,000 rooms poised to grace the state within the next three years. Leading this expansion are the bustling urban centers of Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin, which are among the top ten U.S. metropolitan areas in terms of hotel construction. Dallas-Fort Worth takes the second spot nationally, planning over 6,600 new rooms in the next 36 months, second only to New York City. Austin is not far behind, ranking seventh with an anticipated 3,900 rooms. Meanwhile, Houston and San Antonio are also making significant strides in this sector.

A total of around 12,000 of these rooms, spread across 123 properties, are set to be completed by 2024. Let's delve into four of the most eagerly awaited hotel openings for that year:

Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center (Arlington, Texas - Luxury Class): Nestled in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, the Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center is gearing up to elevate the local entertainment landscape. With 888 luxury rooms, the hotel is strategically located between the AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field, bridging the gap to the expanding entertainment district known as The District. This hotel is poised to cater to the luxury needs of visitors, featuring multiple dining options, two pools, and a sky bridge to the Arlington Convention Center and the existing LIVE! By Loews hotel. The opening is scheduled for February 2024.

The HALL Park Hotel, Autograph Collection (Frisco, Texas - Upper Upscale Class): Frisco's transformation into a sports and entertainment hub gets a boost with the HALL Park Hotel. Part of a grand $7 billion master plan, this 224-room Marriott Autograph Collection hotel will offer amenities including an on-site restaurant, a spacious ballroom, and an outdoor pool. Targeting both leisure and business travelers, the hotel is expected to open its doors in the summer of 2024.

Kimpton Hotel San Antonio (San Antonio, Texas - Upper Upscale Class): Marking Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' debut in San Antonio, this new hotel is an architectural gem, repurposing a historic 1850s schoolhouse. Located in the heart of downtown San Antonio, the 347-room hotel will feature a rooftop pool and lounge, along with extensive meeting and event space. The hotel is a collaboration between White Lodging, HKS Architects, and KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group, and is slated for a late 2024 opening.

Great Wolf Lodge Texas Gulf Coast (Webster, Texas - Upper Upscale Class): This new Great Wolf Lodge, nestled between Houston and Galveston, is set to be a family paradise. The $200 million project includes 532 rooms, a 95,000-square-foot indoor water park, expansive conference space, and a 61,000-square-foot adventure park. As the second Great Wolf Resort in Texas, this project is eagerly anticipated for a fall 2024 opening.

These upcoming properties not only reflect the growth in Texas' hotel industry but also signify a broader shift in the state's appeal as a destination for both leisure and business travelers.
